What is a LATAM Stocks Investment Overview?
This document clearly states what LATAM Stocks investment write ups are and are not, clarifying the purpose and intentions of the research published here. This document serves as a disclaimer.
When publishing investment research I believe it’s important to be very clear about the goals and purpose of that research, as well as any conflicts of interest related to that research. Please take a minute to read this brief document that explains what LATAM Stocks investment overviews are and why I write them.
First, let’s start with what these investment overviews ARE NOT.
-These overviews ARE NOT investment advice. They are not an inducement to buy, sell, or otherwise take action related to any security covered.
-These overviews ARE NOT the opinions of any of my employers or clients, past or present. They are solely my opinion and for informational purposes only.
-These overviews ARE NOT sponsored content by the company covered. I do not and will not accept any form of compensation from a company to cover it. If I own shares in any of the companies covered, I will clearly state it in the investment overview.
-These overviews ARE NOT intended to be a sample portfolio or to outperform any benchmark. I may cover a company because I view it as undervalued. But I may also cover a company because it has an interesting business model, is historically relevant, highlights an important industry or trend, or just because I fell like digging into a certain business for my own personal interests.
So what are these overviews for and why do I publish them?
-I want to educate investors about Latin America by shining a light on relevant and interesting companies.
-I want these overviews to serve as a starting point for a more in depth investment analysis by the reader. Hopefully after reading a write-up, you can decide whether company X or industry Y merits further analysis.
-I try to find companies that highlight relevant industries for a certain economy, for example mining companies in Chile or that highlight a relevant trend, for example fintech in Brazil.
-I want to create a community and network of investors interested in the region. I hope these overviews can serve as a starting point for a discussion about investing in Latin America.
-I want to improve my own investing process. By publishing some of my research publicly I hope to receive feedback and criticism that makes me a better investor.
I hope this document has clarified my goals and intentions for writing this research. If you have any doubts or questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
